This is my first large render to a fractal, it is an update to [link]
Thanks to LeonieZurakowsky [link] for advice on other images and pointing me to some mandelbulb tutorials.
I'm not fully satisfied with this as there are parts of the image that do not have clear detail in them, but considering I only started with Mandebulb last week I reckon it will do as a start. I used one of my HDR landscape shots for the background. Any help on improving this would be greatly received. Parameters are:
Wow, very cool find on this object! And thanks so much for the thanks! You're really going well in this program!
And hey I hope you mean 25 minutes is a short render time! Nothing of mine renders under an hour and generally it's more like 3-5 hours once reflections are added thanks to having only a dual core chip.
I rarely have the patience to wait much longer nowadays than that but there are several underappreciated images in my collection that took over two days!

Best of luck and fun in your explorations!
I have recently bought a 6 core PC, so this was its first test on speed for a large fractal. Seemed to cope OK as it was 25 minutes
